What? Are you FOR REAL?

Frank and Samantha marriage retreat 2019

As God began to stir my heart to "write and blog" a couple of years ago, I literally Laughed Out Loud! Our Story is not worth telling. I thought to myself, No Way! First, I don't have time to write, I have never done anything like this before. I'm too busy being a wife and working a full-time job outside of the home. We are raising a karate chopping, horse riding, Fortnite playing son. Not to mention a seven year old who already acts like she is twenty-seven with her love of dance, make-up, lipstick, constant singing and dreaming of one day when she will become a wife, doctor, teacher and mom. Oh, did I mention the toddler that is so independent and has no fear, that he climbs a ladder to get on top of the roof to help his daddy clean out the gutters? Oh, the stories I could share, but I'll save those for later. Ahh, the bliss of parenting! Who Knew?

Frank and I were talking about how you have to get a learner's permit, take a test and receive a driver's license to operate a vehicle. You need a hunting and fishing license to enjoy those outdoor sports, but anyone can just become a parent! Where is the manual and test for having and raising kids?

As a dear friend encouraged me to dig deep within myself and search my heart again about writing. She said, "you all have such a positive energy, you need to tell your experience and your story." As she spoke those words, I thought to myself I'd love to write inspirational, really spiritual, well thought out perfect topics on marriage, parenting and how we are navigating life together. We love God with all of our heart, proclaim Him, have a desire to serve Him and teach others about Him, while raising our three beautiful kids, believing one day they will all accept HIM as their personal Savior.

Our Story isn't glamourous or perfect; in fact, it's filled with a whole bunch of chaos, mess, frustrations, hard times, tears, laughter and frankly moments so low we weren't sure we would survive them.

We are doing our best to live this life He's put before us through lost shoes/socks/any clothing that involves matching, tears, clothes piled under beds, tons of dishes (did I mention we don't have a dishwasher in this house), one full bathroom to share with five people, and lots of prayers and cuddles. We are doing our best to make the most of this journey.

So, you see, the writing may not be perfect, our thoughts may not be 'deep enough' or 'spiritual enough' for some. That's Ok. It's enough for God and HE is the only one that matters. I'm sure most days God is laughing along with us at life, providing us strength to fight on another day. Let's just be REAL... Life is HARD, chaotic and Life Happens (most of the time when we least expect it)! We are going through this "Real Life" together and as you read on (if you choose), we pray Life is Meant to be Lived~~Chaos, Presence & Love, will help you realize life doesn't have to be picture perfect, well thought out, glamourous (put away the magazines ladies) and organized to fulfill your purpose. Our prayer, is that along the way, you are encouraged to seek His Presence. Be Intentional and Love HIM, so you can love yourself and others.

Until next time, remember God is good all the time and all the time God is Good.

When life sends you spinning, pick your focal point!
