The Presidential Election of 2020 is here. We know that almost all of the readers of this blog live in the United States of America so we felt like it was important to address this topic. While we write this, we don't know the outcome of the presidential election, other than this one fact. One leader will rule over all, one person can be trusted to guide our country to greatness. One person is the key to making America Great Again and making sure that our Best Days Still Lie Ahead. That person isn't a millionaire, He's not a previous Vice President, He's not a real estate mogul. He didn't write rap songs (that I know of). The person that I'm talking has suffered as we have suffered. He has been tempted as we have been tempted, and yet He didn't fail. He was ridiculed as we have been ridiculed and yet He still loved His ridiculers, He knows what's best for us even if we don't agree with Him. He has also cured more people than any famous doctor, fed more than any soup kitchen worker or Fast Food tycoon, generated more philosophical thought than any grand philosopher or thought leader and has given us gifts that are greater than anything that our modern government has to offer.

You probably know who I'm talking about, but if I haven't made myself clear, I'm talking about the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords and the Prince of Peace (something that need more of), Jesus Christ. I want everyone who reads this, no matter who they voted for, whether or not that person wins the election to remember that the true King still presides over this country (notice the word I used - presides: be in the position of authority in a meeting or other gathering., same root word as president) and the world. My king will still be on the throne, so if Kanye wins, if Joe wins, or if Donald wins, we will rejoice.

We will rejoice because our King will not be denied the throne. His commands will be followed because his authority is irrevocable, his power is unstoppable, unfathomable, unlimited and all-encompassing. It doesn't stop at borders, skin colors, appearance, age, language, ethnicity, economic status, weight or level of knowledge. It stops only in our hearts with whether we choose to accept that He is in control, whether or not He presides over our lives. He chooses to limit His power only if we choose not to accept Him in our hearts. Job, the oldest book in the Bible tells us

Job 36:15-26

"He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.  Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness. But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee. Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee. Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.  Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place. Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him? Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?

Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold. Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.  Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out."

I love how this scripture ends with the command - Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold. People will see how you react to this election and to things that happen in your life and they will behold it. For good or for bad, you will magnify His work. Your actions, words, comments and overall composure of the winner of this election, will point to Him. How will we magnify His work? He has been on the throne since before the beginning of time and He will continue on the throne past the end of time, forever and ever Amen.
